If you are 30 and below, then this is a must read post for you. Although, this will benefit you even after your 30s.
This post is all about the things that you all know well but pay no attention to them. It is a small gesture and attempt to help people identify their loops in excess use of smartphones. It is at times unintentional yet you could not resist. Maybe after reading this post, you would witness a significant change that could save your time and health.
1. Nowadays you are not the master of your smartphone, instead the phone is the master of your life. So, it’s the phone that controls your life and you are dependent on it. It is commonly observed these days that a child demands smartphone before his/her mother. It’s upsetting but true.
2. You spend hours surfing on internet. For eg- watching reel after reel on Instagram, YouTube, viewing stories on Facebook, WhatsApp, sharing snaps on Snapchat starting right after waking up. It doesn’t stop here, instead you follow the footsteps of those content creators and waste a lot of time in recreating those trending reels. Social media is a boon when it comes to connecting people, but it is more of a curse when you waste a lot of time in the wait of other people’s opinion on your posts.

3. Smartphone is whiling away your most important thing that is time, it’s taking the most precious part of your life. It’s not only the data pack or Wi-Fi which you are spending, it’s costing you your time. You can afford to recharge your data pack or Wi-Fi but time once spent cannot be reversed, as there is no recharge pack or reset option available for time.

4. Make sure that you use your smartphone minimally, don’t use the phone while eating. Spare proper time for your meals rather than binge using that time to use your phone. Don’t just keep playing games, watching movies and series back to back etc.
5. It may cost you your eyesight if you are continuously using your smartphone, don’t read news from your phone – try reading it from newspapers, or magazines. It affects your health, you can land up in never-ending headaches due to increased screen time. For some migraine patients, it can trigger their headaches due to screen light. Keep your smartphone brightness at an average level. Also, keep the alphabet/font size to normal readable levels so that your eyes remain stress-free.

6. Keep separate time for other routine activities like spending time with friends, don’t keep using your walkie talkie when having a get together with friends. Talk to each other, indulge in some adventure trips, some sports fun, plan road trips, discuss life. Listen to your friends problems and suggest solutions to each other’s problems in life. If you want this happen then you should minimize the use of smartphone.
7. Spend time in nature rather than searching for a nature-like vibe on your phone. Go to sunset spots, beaches, Manali-like trips, or wherever you wish to, but travel to calm spots and enjoy them without your phone. That’s a real win-win for you to finally breathe in nature and feel the difference yourself.

8. Make best use of the phone like setting some reminders for yourself regarding your meetings, target, examination preparation and any upcoming trip of yours. Use it to the best for what it is meant, I hope that’s pretty clear in your mind now.
9. Phone is just a gadget to make your life simple and fast, don’t give it the place as if the phone is your life. I hope you get the difference between the two points.
10. You can keep track of how many hours you are spending on the phone, that would help you avoid using it. Keep your phone away from yourself while sleeping, so that you can save your time and health in the morning by doing good exercises. It will keep you fresh and active throughout the day.

So, now it’s in your hands as to how and when you will use your smartphone. It is totally up to you. But remember that health is wealth.
