RAS Mains Postpone: Battle between Government & Aspirants 

Deteriorating condition of RAS Mains aspirants 

The young generation is the future of our progressive Nation. When it comes to aspirants, the government leaves no stone unturned in extracting its cunning vote bank by seducing aspirants in the name of government jobs. It is disheartening to see students protest in this extreme cold to get their demands accepted. What they are asking for is justified and genuine. The government has turned their back on students ever since it came to power. Students are protesting to postpone the RAS Mains exam which is on 28th January 2024.  

Earlier the RAS Pre examination was held on 1st October 2023 and results came out on 20th October 2023 which left students with 99 days (about 3 and a half months) to prepare for the upcoming RAS Mains exam. It would not have been an issue if there were no elections in the state. The state had its 16th Legislative assembly election on 25th November 2023. Election worked as a hindrance for the students to prepare because most of the RAS Prequalified candidates are already in some or other government services. 

Duty for the Government 

During the election and the model code of conduct, they were not allowed to get casual leave and were made to serve the government. These candidates were left with little time to gear up for the exam as they were constantly on duty for an entire month. With 2 months in hand, they could not complete 30 subjects for the RAS Mains examination. 

These government employees were doing their duty for the government but in return their voices are going in vain as there is not a single authority in the governing body that could listen to their voices full of despair and pain. 

Negligence of the Government 

This story is about every government, when they are not in power, they make huge statements about what their government could have done for the welfare of students and society. But the moment they come to power, they become powerless and not strong enough to make decisions in the favour of the public and students.  

At the time of election, every political party talks about working with fair means for upliftment of students, but no one actually stands on their beliefs. This needs to be stopped, they are there because of us. They must listen to the demands of students. The younger generation in India has a major vote portion and if government fails to work for their welfare then it is useless.

A Protest for the Justice

RAS Mains Students sitting out there in extreme situations without worrying about cold and their health. So, that they can build a better future for themselves and others. For so many students it’s a once in a lifetime chance, no one would ever wish to waste it because of the negligence of the governing authorities. They are there on behalf of each and every student so that these things work on fair means in the future.  

They are asking for more time which is genuine, and they definitely deserve this time. People who are really willing to help these aspirants can join them by reaching the protest point to encourage them to fight for their rights. For the other students, they can protest virtually so that their voices can reach to the impaired ears of the deaf government for the welfare of the RAS Mains students. Remember, unity is strength and you are supposed to fight your own battle.
