“Man Vs Godman” 

Manoj Bajpayee absolute gem of Hindi cinema. A film not based on real events but inspired from them deserves all the praise from the audience. It has strong foundation pillars ranging from casting to cinematography. This film has captured human emotions and rights to its core. 

The story unfolds as a minor girl and her parents approach the door of court to get justice. Baba is accused of raping a minor girl in the name of faith and religion. The case runs for a good five years long and finally, the judgement day comes in 2018. In the end, justice has been served.

Remarkable acting of Manoj Bajpayee deserves to be applauded. An outstanding actor but underrated has managed to grab the spotlight. He has proven in ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’ that no power, money or terrorism could bring you down if you have truth on your side.  

Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai will leave with the impression of authentic courtroom drama. It stands out from all other movies. It has captured the heinous crime of rape and murder on the name of faith. This will leave you questioning your own faith.  

Through the ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’ movie, the message of “what is right” is highlighted rather than “who is right.” This directorial debut by Apoorv Singh Karki has highlighted the historic case of POCSO Act 2012. This case was a landmark in Indian history and a milestone achieved by consistent hard work. 

Hypocrisy and underlying truth prevail throughout the movie. Using faith and religion by unfair means to hide sins committed by Baba.

Sanatana Dharma has played a pivotal role in this film. The entire courtroom drama revolved around the impact and teachings of it. Baba, being a people icon has an important role in playing the role of a learned. One of the defending lawyers said, “this is a matter of our beliefs.”  But, the ending of it brings light to the actual teachings and learnings of Sanatana Dharma.

PC Solanki (Manoj Bajpayee) quotes an excerpt from Ramayana that Lord Shiva says: 

“Sin has been divided into three categories. 

1. First, when humans commit knowingly or unknowingly. 

2. Second is known as atrocities. 

3. The third category is known as a great sin and there is no forgiveness for it.” 

Baba has committed a great sin because his actions will have an impact on generations to come. He has brought shame to the profession of a sage. This crime will affect sages and religion for centuries to come.
